CMAT to be conducted online from 20 to 28 February 2012

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the dates for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012 for Admission to the Management Programs in the AICTE approved Management Institutions, for academic year 2012-2013. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission to all management institutes will be conducted online in 61 cities from 20 to 28th February, 2012.

CMAT aims at reducing the burden of students in attending multiple examinations and facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all Management Programmes approved by AICTE for year 2012-13.

The CMAT will replace the existing state level and national level entrance exams for management courses except CAT. The scores awarded will be used for admission in the post graduate management programmes both at degree and diploma level. The questions will be based on quantitative techniques and data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness.

The institutions and State governments are required to register online free of charge for opting to CMAT-2012 scores for admissions for academic year 2012-13. The minority institutions shall effect admissions as per the provision available for such categories.

CMAT scores will help students get admissions in AICTE approved institutes/university departments in all management programmes catering to more than four lakh sanctioned seats of AICTE approved management institutions.

Students can appear for the examination on any day from February 20 to 28. The test will be held for about four lakh management seats across the country. “The scores awarded will be used for admission in the post graduate management programmes both at degree and diploma level all over India for 2012-13,” the official said. The registration for the CMAT will start on December 9, 2011.

The results will be declared from March 11 to April 11, 2012.
